We’re sure you’ve heard a lot about Belvedere Pure Vodka amid the release of Spectre. But now George has decided that he’d like to expand on how much he actually enjoy the flavours of the stuff.

Introduce Belvedere Pure Vodka

Belvedere was the world’s first premium vodka. It’s from Poland and has over 600 years of distilling history behind it, so you know it’s got to be good. As proof that this is, in fact, the case, Belvedere Pure Vodka has won a number of illustrious industry awards.

A sleek bottle for a sleek, smooth vodka.

George is a bit of a fitness nut and so he’s very careful about the things that he takes into his body. When he does allow himself a drink, though, he goes for the best, the most flavoursome.

“It’s Smoother than Absolut, refreshing, and it’s low in calories. The three things I look for in a drink!” – George.

If you’re going to be a vodka drinker, you might as well drink some of the best. Belvedere Pure Vodka is incredibly smooth on the palate and it isn’t overwhelming. It has a very fresh finish that really leaves you wanting more of it.

What Does it Taste Like?

“Enough preamble! The flavours!” I hear you cry.

Colour & Appearance: Crystal clear.

Nose: Faint vanilla hint, mild cream characteristics.

Palate: Full and round, medium-bodied. Rich, velvety mouthfeel. Vanilla comes through against both sweet and savoury tones. Hints of white pepper and spice.

Finish: Long and pleasant with hints of nuts and cream.

Serving Suggestion: George recommends it in a tall glass with a dash of soda and fresh lime.

“It goes down like a treat!” – George.

What Do I Do Now?

Why not try some Belvedere Vodka for yourself? We have a huge range here at MyBottleShop for you to try!

By now, we’re all familiar with Absolut’s penchant for releasing limited edition bottles just in time for Christmas, and 2015 is no exception. This year the vodka giant has released a metallic range of blue and silver Absolut Electrik bottles in conjunction with the worldwide Absolut Nights campaign.

Introducing the Magic of Absolut Electrik

Launched in LA at a futuristic house-party themed event, drinks were mixed by drones, robotic bands entertained the masses and a giant tesla arc shaped like an Absolut Electrik bottle overlooked it all. The party is set to continue in Mexico, Germany, Brazil and the UK, but it seems Australia has failed to make the list. The solution? Create your own Electrik night at home.

In keeping with the campaign’s bid to ‘transform the night beyond the ordinary’, each bottle embodies dazzling city nights for a cosmopolitan (literal or figurative) addition to the home bar.

Blending ‘robot and man’ to push the boundaries of mixology, the good folk at Absolut have come up with a few cocktail recipes for our imitation and enjoyment, bringing buzzing nights right to your doorstep.

As if that weren’t enough, a number of videos were released that show robots mixing the concoctions. The interactive mixology platform asks drinkers to create their own cocktail for the friendly Absolut robot to mix.

Let’s take a closer look at some of the A.I-assisted drinks you can make at home (we suggest listening to Daft Punk while mixing to really get in the robotic mood):

Blue Mule 1 part Absolut Vodka 2 parts Fever Tree or Fentiman’s Ginger Beer One wedge of lime to garnish Neon Lighting 2 parts Absolut Vodka 1 1/5 parts lemon juice 1 1/5 parts grapefruit juice 4/5 part simple syrup 1/5 part ginger syrup Ginger Bolt 1 part Absolut Vodka 2/3 part Lychee liquer 1 part Lemon Juice 2/3 part ginger syrup (1 part freshly squeezed ginger juice with 3 parts simple syrup) 6 lemon balm leaves House Party Punch No 1 2 ½ parts Absolut Vodka 1 part earl grey tea syrup ½ part lemon juice 3 parts cranberry Juice Bitters optional Garnish with raspberry, strawberries and lemon House Party Punch No 2 2 ½ parts Absolut Vodka 2 parts ice tea ½ part raspberry syrup 1 part lemon juice 3 parts cranberry

There’s around 2.5-million of the sexy limited edition 700mL bottles circulating the globe, and MyBottleShop just so happen to have a select few. Order a bottle and create your own tech-savvy house party tonight!

It’s a little late this week, but we’ll make up for that with absolute top shelf quality. If you love vodka, then this week will be a special treat for you. Steve got to taste a bottle of one of the best vodkas in the world, and he couldn’t be happier.

Introducing Beluga Gold Line Vodka

Beluga Gold Line Vodka isn’t your average vodka. This is a fantastic Russian vodka doing justice to the long tradition of Russian vodkas. This unique vodka gets its flavour from its malt composition, which is then distilled three times to really refine it. It is then allowed to rest for thirty days to help soften the harsh nose and burn.

The Mariinsky Distillery, where the vodka is distilled, has been in operation since 1900 and is now considered to be one of the nationwide leaders in the industry thanks to their equipment and control standards. It’s also said that the pure Siberian water they use is some of the purest in the world and impacts positively on the taste of Beluga Gold Line Vodka.

But before we talk about the taste, let’s take a moment to have a look at the artisanal joy that is the bottle itself. The beautifully crafted, smooth glass bottle is embossed with a large and hand-made pewter label that adds a wonderful texture to the bottle. The cap is then sealed in hard wax, which gives the bottle an old-feel look and style.

Imagine that on your top shelf.

“It’s special. It was a whole experience.” – Steve.

But that’s just the look – the most important part is the flavour experience!

What Does it Taste Like?

Nose: The super soft aroma is borderline neutral. Opens creamy and luxurious, yielding flashes of citrus blossom, talc and whisper light spices that issue a gentle prickle after deeper inhalation.

Palate: It’s velvety smooth and creamy, totally soft on the palate. Notes of vanilla and pepper make up this vodka, with some grassy hints.

Finish: This vodka is almost completely neutral. There is no discernible burn so the flavours carry through nicely and it finishes soft and pleasant.

Serving Suggestion: Steve enjoyed this vodka straight in shot form, and it was really enjoyable. He also tried it in a vodka martini and it was a perfect blending vodka, great for a strong and smooth cocktail.

What Do I Do Now?

Hopefully you’ve enjoyed this look at Beluga Gold Line Vodka. We have it available right here in a special gift box with a hammer/brush and three shot glasses, or on its own in a leatherette box with the hammer/brush to break the wax seal.

We all know the man. And the famous line, first uttered onscreen by Sean Connery in Goldfiner in 1964. Now, own a part of James Bond’s history with these new bottles of Belvedere Spectre vodka. This is the drink that the man will be drinking in the upcoming Sam Mendes-helmed film, and Belvedere wants you to take some home.

Introducing the Belvedere Spectre Range

First things first. You can’t have James Bond without a martini. And you can’t have a martini without a cocktail shaker. Well, you’re in luck! One of these beautiful tie-in products is a 750mL bottle of specially marked Belvedere Spectre vodka with its own 007-branded cocktail shaker.

Now you can serve your drinks with class.

It’s the perfect combination, making yourself a special Spectre vodka martini in your own Spectre shaker. Oh, did we not mention that? There’s a special recipe for a Belvedere Spectre vodka martini! Want it? Of course you do.

Belvedere 007 Spectre Vodka martini: A twist on the classic dirty martini.

60 ml (2 oz) Belvedere 10 ml (1/4 oz) dry vermouth 1 Sicilian green olive (washed) 5 ml (dash) Sicilian green olive brine Gently muddle olives in base of mixing glass. Add remaining ingredients and shake hard with ice. Double strain into a chilled martini glass. Garnish with a single Sicilian green olive.

Sounds mouthwatering, doesn’t it? And don’t worry if you can’t remember it, if you get the 1.75L Belvedere Spectre Vodka Magnum, it’s printed on the back for you to keep.

Be the life of the party with this 1.75L Magnum!

Fun fact: a big bottle like this has a name other than magnum (and half gallon). It’s “handle” because bottles like this often need a handle to be carried or poured.

Part of the fun of having a bottle like this is definitely the act of pouring it! Have a party with a few (dozen) friends and bring this along. Maybe have a special launch party for the film itself? Have a blast!

We understand, though, that this bottle might be too classy, too pristine-looking. Maybe you’re looking for a 1.75L bottle that has a bit more of a night club feel about it. Something you can take to the biggest rave or house party. Don’t worry, we’ve got you covered. Introducing the Silver Sabre!

Didn’t I say we had you covered?

Perfectly smooth. Just like Bond himself.

“What about us Aussies?” I hear you cry. Fear not. There is something special for you. A limited edition, Australia-only release of this 700mL Belvedere Spectre vodka. It’s a sleek, branded bottle for everyday or party drinking.

For we are young and free.

Aussie, Aussie, Aussie.

What Now?

Celebrate! With the November 12 release of Spectre quick approaching, get your hands on these beautiful Belvedere Spectre vodkas now! Host your own party or have your own stylish pre-drinks before heading down to the premiere. We promise you’ll enjoy it. Spectre only comes once a year, after all.

Go on. Make the right choice.

ÅHUS, Sweden, September 1, 2015 – Absolut have released their newest creation in their long line of vodkas, and it’s an interesting one. They want to change the traditional image of vodka with a new dark look. Oak by Absolut is aged in Swedish, French and American oak barrels to infuse with a smoky flavour with a hint of vanilla and caramel. Even more interesting, it gives the vodka a dark, almost rum-like colouring.

Oak by Absolut Vodka 750mL available from

A New Face of Vodka

After one hundred years of making clear vodka, this creates an interesting new paradigm for vodka. Inspired by bartenders aging their own cocktails, Absolut have created a vodka that can be mixed into cocktails previously reserved for darker liquors. Their website suggests a few clever twists on traditional flavours, like the Oak Mule and the Oak Sour, as well as simple mixes like Oak and Cola, and the Oak and Ginger.

People are used to vodka being a stronger drink, something with a forceful flavour, but by aging it in the oak barrels, Absolut have created a smoother texture and flavour. This kind of breaks the rules for what people know about vodka. As a result of their new process, they have created a vodka with a depth of character and smoothness to the flavour, as well as one that stacks up against other dark liquors.

Continuing Innovation

Enjoying their runaway success with their long line of flavoured vodkas, Absolut don’t seem content to sit on their laurels. They recognise the importance of continued innovation. They understand that the market – and, therefore, people’s tastes – are fluid, and change. This is why they continue to create newer, bolder flavoured vodkas for more interesting drinks and cocktails.

If you like vodka, or even if you like darker liquors, the new Oak by Absolut might be the drink for you.

Who’s the celebrity porn star who endorses his own distinctive brand of rum? (Answer at the end of article).

Ever noticed how liquor brands cash in on the different personalities of celebrities? The marketing world has always fallen over themselves to engage celebrities to help endorse their products. From rapper Puff Daddy’s meteoric success with Ciroc vodka and 50 Cent with rival Effen brand, to Mila Kunis (Jim Beam), George Clooney and Casamigos Tequila and Beyonce and Jay Z (Armand de Brignac), celebrities play an important, sometimes defining role in the branding of the drinks they endorse.

Jay Z and Beyonce own Armand de Brignac Champagne

Celebrities have long been used to lend their glitz and glamour to marketing promotions however now, more than ever, they are co-operating in ever more sophisticated marketing campaigns.

Other celebrities and the products they own or endorse:

Bill Murray (actor) — Slovenia Vodka Mila Kunis (actress) — Jim Beam Aaron Paul (actor) — Bushmills Irish Whiskey Christina Hendricks (actress) — Johnnie Walker Red & Black Label David Beckham (retired footballer) — Haig Club whisky Dan Ackroyd — Crystal Head Vodka Joe Montana — Aviation Gin ZZ Top’s Billy Gibbons — Pura Vida Van Halen’s Sammy Hagar — Sammy’s Beach Bar Rum Marilyn Manson — Mansinthe

The key of course for the marketing types at the liquor companies is to match the personality with the intended audience. The brashness of rap stars Puff Daddy and 50 Cent have worked well for a vodka aimed at the younger audience.

A more discerning audience may be attracted by a marketing campaign based around a more mature celebrity. Such has been the sophistication of the finely-tuned advertising campaigns aimed at the drinks’ demographics.

The changing style of tequila is a case in point. Now consumers are starting to favour 100 percent agave tequila brands such as Patron rather than the sometimes low quality mixed varieties. Some credit for this explosion in preference for artisan brands must go to celebrities such as George Clooney and Sean (P.Diddy) Combs for not only endorsing, but investing in top shelf brands.

The touch of style, glitz and glamour is a potent marketing weapon for liquor sellers, one that will bring rich rewards for makers of these products. The “personality” of the brand is matched to the image the celebrity projects, a marketing ploy that works as well for clothes, shoes and fashion accessories as it does for drinks. Check out the MyBottleShop Celebrity Collection for more details.

And the name of the celebrity porn star? Why Ron Jeremy of course and his aptly-named Ron de Jeremy Hardcore Edition Spiced Rum.

We all know that social media has fast become the epic scene of battles between celebrities but the stoush between rappers 50 Cent and P. Diddy back in November was different.

Was it an artistic dispute? A rivalry over girlfriends? Money? No, the brouhaha arose as a result of both rappers doing promotional work for separate vodka companies: 50 Cent with Effen and P. Diddy with Ciroc.

The dispute was ignited when 50 Cent posted a picture to his Instagram account, showing P. Diddy in an unfortunate (and well…extremely compromising) embrace of an overweight lady. But it wasn’t the pic that caused the stir, more the caption which tended to belittle P. Diddy’s brand.

While the photo caused a riot on social media, with criticism of the body shaming tactics of 50 Cent, the man himself seemed unworried by the attention.

In a cryptic reply which seemed to hint at the dispute P. Diddy said: “If it ain’t making me money, making me better or making me happy… ain’t making time for it.”

So have the pair sat down and settled their differences over a glass of vodka? It seems that whether the dispute goes on or not, both are on a winner when it comes to vodka promotion.

Sweden’s Winter Wheat is a magical product. It is planted in Autumn and the seeds remain in the rich soil throughout the arctic winter.  Biological impurities do not survive these harsh conditions.

Come spring, when most of the American and Central European wheat is finally sown – the purified Swedish seeds have already been in the earth and absorbing the Swedish soil’s nutrition for nearly 8 months.

The next bit of magic is the midnight sun.  Compared to central Europe and the USA, Swedish wheat fields enjoy at least 5 more hours of daylight during each summer day, so the what becomes richer and more complex than crops to the South.

Finally, when the Swedish wheat is harvested, it has matured for a full year and it goes straight on to distillation according to century old traditions.  This soft wheat turns into a vodka that is so fine, soft and subtly complex that it caresses all of our senses.

From it’s humble beginnings in the small town of Ahus in Sweden, Absolut Vodka has taken the world by storm and become the third largest brand spirits globally.

Absolut Vodka have been in business since 1879, but introduced to the global market in 1979. Since that launch, production has grown from 90,000 litres to 96.6 million litres in 2008.

Absolut Vodka – The Evolution ABSOLUT BLOODY CAESAR 1 part Absolut Peppar 2 dashes Worchester sauce 1 dash Lemon Juice 2 dashes Hot Sauce Clamato Juice, Pinch of Salt And Pepper Build over ice in a highball glass and garnish with celery.

In 1986, Absoult broke the rules and released Absolut Peppar – Their entry into flavoured vodka.

This natural blend of roasted jalapeños, green tomato and dried herbs brought the Absolut brand global attention from cocktail bars around the world, as their new offering was the perfect match for the then new and extremely popular Bloody Mary.

Absolut Vodka Limited Edition

The first limited edition Absolut was released in 2003 after decades of success with their flavoured range. Absolut Britto was the first, named after Brazilian artist and sculptor Romero Britto.

Since then, there’s been more and more limited edition releases from Absolut with many bottle varieties, labels and sizes – from 50mL miniatures to the Absolut Original 4.5L!

Many of the Absolut Vodka’s are produced in the millions… but very special releases have less than 1000 produced worldwide.

For example:

In 2003 Absolut Exposure 1L was introduced – 300,000 bottles in total worldwide, 100,000 of each bottle design of the actress and supermodel Lydia Hearst guised in a number of different “personas”. Absolut Berlin – Released exclusively in Germany in 2014 with only 300,000 bottles in circulation globally. Absolut Glimmer – Released in 2010 worldwide with 4,800,000 bottles released in 700mL, 750mL and 1L sizes… But in 2011 they released Absolut Glimmer Swarovski, which features almost 100 blue Swarovski elements with a unique production number on the neck tag, with only 1000 bottles produced. Extremely rare! Absolut City Series – US Editions

Absolut added to their limited edition collection by introducing the U.S. Editions range, starting with Absolut New Orleans in 2007, later adding Absolut San Francisco, Absolut Chicago and Absolut Texas – As well as several other iconic US cities.

Absolut City & Countries series – International Editions

On the back of the success of the US limited editions, the International Editions were realised in 2010 – this time with designs by international acclaimed artists. With great editions like:

Absolut OZ – Designed by Baz Luhrmann (We actually stock a signed bottle!) Absolut Berlin – Designed by American artist Zhivago Duncan Absolut Mexico – Designed by Mexican artist Dr. Lakra Absolut Vodka – The Future

Absolut will continue to innovate and lead the way with their cutting-edge bottle designs and unique flavours.
