Founded in 1872, J Normandin-Mercier produces Cognacs from only two regions; Grande and Petite Champagne at Chateau de la Peraudiere, close to the town of La Rochelle. Still family run, Edouard, Jean-Marie and Audrey Normandin continue to produce cognacs in exactly the same methods as their ancestors.
The site of the property, close to La Rochelle, is the result of a strategic choice in the 19th century. At this time, the city of La Rochelle was the major export harbour for Cognac, both located on the coast and on the rail network. This exceptional site offers the perfect ageing for Cognac with a very natural regulation of hygrometry and temperature. In these cellars there are only cognacs from Grande and Petite Champagne.
